How To Do A Quarterly Review

By Mike Van Hoozer

Reading Time: minutes

In sports, business, and life, it’s important to review where you have been, where you are, and where you are going. Great teams and organizations do this all the time both on an annual and quarterly basis.

I think it is even more critical for you as an individual and leader to do a quarterly review to assess how you are doing and who you are becoming. If you have committed to some meaningful goals this year, the end of a quarter is a great opportunity to take a time out to celebrate and learn from the past, take inventory of the present, and prepare for the future.

In today’s episode of Monday Morning Moments, I offer some things to consider in planning your quarterly review and some key questions to ask during this very important time with yourself.

Key Questions to Consider:

  1. What has become clear since we last met?  What is one important thing that you have learned about yourself lately?
  2. What are some accomplishments in the past 3-4 months that you are most proud of?
  3. What excites you most about your future?  What accomplishments will bring you the greatest sense of pride?
  4. How would others describe your performance?  How would you describe your performance?
  5. What do you need to start, stop, and continue doing?
  6. Rate your current ability to handle challenges (fear, pressure, doubt, negative thoughts, and/or lack of confidence) on a scale of 1 to 10 (low to high).
  7. Is there a specific challenge that you want to work on in the next 3-4 months that you think could help you have your next breakthrough performance?
