At the end of every calendar year, I take time to reflect on the moments from the past year and pray and prepare for the new year ahead. I think about and ponder what God has done in and through my life, and I surrender all of the plans, ideas, and goals that I want to achieve to Him, so that “my plans” will be His plans, His ways, and His path and purpose for my life.

My desire is to submit and surrender my fleeting story to be about His eternal glory!

Part of this process is choosing one word for the new year based on Jon Gordon’s book and process for this. My one word for 2025 is KNOW(N). It is a combination of the words Know and Known. Here are 3 ways I will embrace and live out this word in 2025 (and beyond):

• Know God: I already know God well, but I want to know Him in an even deeper way! I am going to purposely pursue God through my daily quiet time and prayer and seek His will and His glory above all else. I want to know His ways and pursue His path for my life above all else. In Jeremiah 33:3, one of my theme verses for this year, God promises this: “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” I want to seek Him in this way and have Him show me things that I have not yet experienced and known.
• Make Him Known: I will continue to use the gifts, talents, strengths, opportunities, and moments that God gives me to make Jesus known within my sphere of influence. My relationship with Jesus is the most important relationship in my life, and every other relationship flows from it. For that reason, I want to share with others what can truly help them become better leaders and perform at their best on the field and off and have faith over fear in every circumstance and moment! 
• Be Known By Him: God already knows me since He created me, but I want to be authentic in my interactions with Him, and be transparent and open up to Him more in 2025. I believe that when we authentically express ourselves in any relationship, we open ourselves up to a deeper connection and become more well known. I definitely want this to be true in my most important relationship! And when I ever doubt that no one knows me or is on my side, I will recall that I am known by God, the creator of the universe and the creator of me!

To know God and be known by Him is the greatest opportunity we could ever have in life. I am so excited about all of the moments that will happen in 2025, and I pray blessings and incredible moments of impact and growth for you. I encourage you to go through the process of discovering your one word for this year and refine your goals to a list of 7 that you will relentlessly pursue with passion and purpose in the new year!
