Welcome to the Locker Room – a place to develop mental toughness and unleash your potential in whatever sport you play. As a peak sports performance expert, I have worked with every kind of athlete including youth, high school, college, and professional athletes. I have had the honor and privilege of working with both students and adult athletes. My passion is to help individuals reach their maximum potential in whatever they do.

My focus is to work with and coach them to develop a High Performance Mindset. The clients that I work with are very successful and desire to take their game to the next level in search of reaching their maximum potential. Finally, I taught a leadership development program that I created in coordination with the Rice University Athletic Department for their student athletes for 6 years. Goalkeeper“Mike came highly recommended to us when were looking for a professional to help our daughter work through her challenges stemming from a broken leg that happened during a soccer match. From our perspective, it did not take long for us to see the results of Mike’s work and impact on our daughter. At her choice, she wanted to work with Mike beyond the issues pertaining to the sports injury. She (and we) saw great value in Mike’s expertise and connection with athletes – especially adolescent athletes. Mike accomplished a lot with her:

  • Goal setting for optimal performance
  • Tools on how to manage and react to challenges between teammates and coaches (an often difficult challenge)
  • Tools on how to “focus on the moment” vs. what happened last game or what might happen in the future
  • Attending games to validate her performance as it related to her goals.

Mike also helped us a lot on the parent/“adolescent athlete” dynamics. As you know it is normal behavioral development for the adolescent to put up barriers as they widen their independence from mom and dad. As a third party to our relationship with our daughter, Mike quickly gained her confidence and was able to remove the behavioral barriers and provide us all the tools to more effectively communicate.
